“Well, I took last week off, just, um because I was PMS and exhausted and didn’t want to do the show haha. I know I know I said I would be back here every week with you, well, you know. Sometimes you just gotta sit on the couch and eat chocolate and not do the thing. Also, my lover from Maine was here last weekend and I really just wanted to spend one extra hour with them. Time is so short and precious, and it felt silly to sit down and take time to record this show. But here I am again. And this week I’ve actually got relatively little to report. Life is good, simple, sweet, and generous. I’ve been working hard on my work, keeping my head down and myself generally out of trouble. Which really is a good thing. Sometimes to be happy we have to simplify, to just be in the present with what is. And that’s been the name of the game lately. Simple simple sweet, and yearning. And I’ve been seeing friends and reconnecting with people. And working my own unique magic wherever I go. And that’s all I really ever want. So this week will be a music-heavy one. Because I’ve been listening to a lot of great music, I’ll tell you a little about a very sweet and tender night at a little Airbnb in the woods, and I’ll tell you a story about The Alchemist and a connection that has stood the test of time, and me, and everything. And a magical baby girl I got to meet this week. And I’ll tell you a little about my dreams maybe and what I’m cooking up, what I’m creating, with every step like a silver prayer. And mostly, mostly we will listen to some sweet, sweet music. Now, this week I’ve been listening to a very jarring mix of bad baby rap music, and sweet gentle folks music, and I won’t subject you to the whole discombobulating treatment which involves listening to Angel of Montgomery followed by Megan the stallion. No, I won’t do that to you. We’ll just stick to the folk piece of it, and I’ll start us off with a sweet and tender one. And one I’ve had on repeat so much in my heart, in my car, in my life lately here’s Take Me Back, by Sarah Jarosz
Followed by Angel of Montgomery by Bonnie Raitt”
